So, what do people who come to classes regularly, say about us?
“I’ve been going to dance classes for a couple of years now but only recently started with Alter Ego. Alter Ego dance classes have opened my eyes as to how unique and creative hip hop choreography can be. In the classes we get to learn all the different styles of hip hop which is one thing that was missing from other classes that I have attended. I love the classes because they are the hardest ones I have been to (!) and are really challenging which is what I need to improve. It’s hard work but once you ‘have it’ then it’s so rewarding.” Gemma Osman, age 26, London
"I used to dance with another local company who I left to go to Alter Ego and have been a lot happier since I moved. The classes are really fun and we get constructive crticism (if we ask for it) which has helped me to get better. Shelly Newman, age 16, Watford
Brendon is a really cool guy and very caring. Shelly has been happier here and it is a much more relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Shelly's' mum
Brendon is really nice and he teaches us all the different techniques and how to feel the music. If you dont get the dance he will go over it, there are all different ages and he doesn't make you feel too young or too old. He makes it really fun and that makes it funny. Amber-Louise Pocklington age 11, Shenley
"Its brilliant to have people who believe in you! Its a really relaxed atmosphere making it easier for people who are new, there is no pressure if you get things wrong or if it takes you time to get in to it." Ben Roper, Age 19, St Albans
"Alter Ego classes create a fun energetic environment. It is the sort of class you will find in London without having to go the distance! I've been to loads of classes and this is by far the best, you learn new techniques and skills each week!" Leanne Hall, age 16, St Albans
"Until recently when people used to ask me how long Id been dancing I used to say a year and a half. Now I say a month because that’s how long I’ve been going to the Alter-ego classes and they have completely opened my eyes to what dance is really all about! It has made me realise the complexity and diversity within it, and the things your body can do if you really put your mind to it. I feel challenged by every class and each time you are doing something different and that’s what makes it so enjoyable. Brendon has a real passion for what he does and his talent spreads across a variety of styles and that’s a real inspiration to anyone who takes his classes. I live an hour away from the classes but happened to do one, as I was in the area visiting a friend. Now I am now travelling that hour to get to classes at least twice a week."
